I am a psychoanalyst and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience in the field of mental health, serving diverse settings and populations. My journey began after obtaining my M.S.W. from Adelphi University in 1980, and since then, I have committed many years to understanding and treating a wide array of psychological issues.
Over the years, I have worked across various environments, from adult inpatient facilities and child residential treatment centers to adolescent group homes. I've also been an integral part of the community mental health framework in Vermont, and since 1991, I have been running my private practice in Waterbury. This varied experience has enriched my approach, allowing me to adapt and respond to the unique needs of each individual and setting.
Since 2011, I have expanded my role to include teaching, becoming a faculty member at the International Psychotherapy Institute (IPI), in Maryland. My academic role is complemented by my ongoing learning; in 2018, I earned a Certificate in Psychoanalysis at IPI's International Institute for Psychoanalysis. This training has further deepened my appreciation and understanding of psychoanalytic thought, which profoundly shapes my clinical practice.
In my practice, I see people with a range of issues such as depression, anxiety, and grief, approaching each with empathy, honesty, and sometimes humor. I am deeply committed to fostering a safe space where confidentiality is paramount, and personal growth can occur through the exploration of both conscious and unconscious thoughts and feelings.
Thank you for visiting my page. I look forward to the opportunity to work together towards a deeper understanding of yourself and achieving lasting change.
